창세기 42 : 6 - 요셉의 형들이 이집트로 내려감 요셉은 그 땅의 총독이 되어 그 땅의 온 백성에게 파는 일을 하였는데 요셉의 형들이 와서 그 앞에서 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려 절하니 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.
창세기 38 : 15 - 유다와 다말 그녀가 자기 얼굴을 가렸으므로 유다가 그녀를 보고는 그녀를 창녀로 여기고 When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face.
창세기 35 : 7 - 야곱이 벧엘로 돌아감 그가 거기서 제단을 쌓고 그곳을 엘벧엘이라 불렀으니 이는 그가 자기 형의 얼굴을 피하여 도망 할 때에 하나님께서 거기서 그에게 나타나셨기 때문이더라. And he built there an alter, and called the place El-beth-el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
창세기 35 : 1 - 야곱이 벧엘로 돌아감 하나님께서 야곱에게 이르시되, 일어나 벧엘로 올라가서 거기 거하며 네가 네 형 에서의 얼굴을 피하여 도망하던 때에 네게 나타났던 하나님 에게 거기서 제단을 쌓으라, 하시니 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an alter unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
창세기 33 : 10 - 야곱이 에서를 만남 야곱이 이르되, 아니니이다. 이제 내가 형의 눈앞에서 은혜를 입었사오면 원하건대 내 손에서 내 예물을 받으소서. 이런 까닭으로 내가 형의 얼굴을 뵌즉 하나님의 얼굴을 뵌 것 같사오며 형도 나를 기뻐하셨나이다. And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.
창세기 32 : 30 - 브니엘: 야곱이 새 이름을 받음 야곱이 그곳의 이름을 브니엘이라 하였으니 이는 그가 이르기를, 내가 얼굴을 마주 대하여 하나님을 보았으나 내 생명이 보존되었다, 하였기 때문이더라. And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
창세기 32 : 20 - 에서가 야곱을 치려고 옴 또 너희는 덧붙여 이르기를, 보소서, 주의 종 야곱이 우리 뒤에 있나이다, 하라, 하니 이는 그가 말하기를, 내가 내 앞에 보내는 예물로 그를 달랜 뒤에 그의 얼굴을 보면 그가 혹시 나를 받아주리라, 하였기 때문이더라. And say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept of me.
창세기 31 : 21 - 야곱이 라반을 피해 도망함 이와 같이 그가 자기의 모든 소유를 가지고 도망하였으며 그가 일어나서 강을 건너고 길르앗 산을 향해 얼굴을 고정하니라. So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
